Stanley Van Meter Wycoff II

Stanley Van Meter Wycoff II recently passed away peacefully at home in Cypress CA surrounded by his family. He was 95 years old.

Stan was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Swissvale High School in 1936 where he was voted "Prince Charming…the best looking boy in the school."

He served in the Army Air Force Intelligence Division during WWII. His assignments included gathering intelligence information and scouting enemy fortifications in the Asiatic Pacific. In 1946 he was awarded six Bronze Medals for his service.

Stan spent his professional career working for Dow Pharmaceuticals, retiring after 30 years with the company. During retirement Stan enjoyed travel, sports, family get-together events and meeting with his buddies for weekly "Hobo Night" dinners at the El Dorado Restaurant.

He will be remembered by family and friends for his devotion to family, great sense of humor, sharp wit and warm heart. Stan was an unfailingly selfless man with always a kind word for everyone he met.

He is predeceased by his wife Katherine in 1978, the mother of his children, and by his wife Betty in 2011. He is survived by his four children, Karen (Gary) Casselbury; Stanley V. (Glenda) Wycoff III; Deborah Wycoff; and Mary (Carl) Zabel; stepson Jim (Joan) Hannon; his grandchildren, Allison, Matthew, Kevin, Jason, Scott and Katie; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service and reception will be held Friday April 11th at 11:00 AM at All Souls Cemetery located at 4400 Cherry Avenue in Long Beach CA 90807 (562) 424-8601.
