A long time resident of Covina and Sun City, California, Vernon Chadwick passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013, in San Dimas, California at the age of 95. Vernon was born on November 7th, 1917, in Snowball, Arkansas. He spent much of his early childhood in Oklahoma and Colorado, moving to Nyssa, Oregon in 1935. In 1950 he moved his family to California, where he became a roofing contractor and owned his own company for many years. He retired in Sun City, California, in 1993.
Vernon was preceded in death by his mother, Allie Sims Chadwick, father, Algernon Chadwick, step-mother, Eva Cook Chadwick, and sister, Hazel Shores. He is survived by his brother, Royce Chadwick, and Vernon's three children Lonna Barry, Anita Beno, and Verne Chadwick and their families. The family includes 9 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Vernon was laid to rest October 2nd in Nyssa, Oregon.
