An avid lover of Elvis, studious worker, and devoted family man, Donald was born and raised in Kingsford, Michigan. He came to Burbank, California in 1962, first working at ITT General Controls, then joining the Painters' Union, Local 1036. He worked as an industrial painter for 35 years, until his retirement in 2005. He passed away in his home in Burbank, following his mother, Lucille and father, Ivan Phillips. He is survived by his wife of near-forty years, the love of his life, Carmelita Evans Phillips, son Danny (Kathy), daughter Debbie (Steve), granddaughters Arica and Dana, brothers David (Yong Ja) and Bruce, sisters Carole (Dick), Barbara, and Sharon, and his beloved golden retriever, Drifter, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was cremated by Valley Funeral Homes in Burbank. Memorial service will be held May 19th at 2pm at American Lutheran Church, 755 N. Whitnall Hwy (Hollywood Way and Clark). His final resting place will be the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Hollywood Hills.
