Ohrmund, Alfred Bruce (Al)

Went home to heaven May 19, 2012, with his wife of almost 45 years, Chris, by his side. Born April 7, 1938 in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin to Alfred A. and Esther J. (Duehmke) Ohrmund. Made Milwaukee his home until a job transfer to California in 1975. Pre-deceased by his parents, a sister, Jeanette, brother, Harold and sister-in-law, Doris.

Served in U.S. Army 1959-1961, stationed in Korea.
Retired as Vice President/General Manager, CBC/American Drill Bushing, Paramount, CA in 2008.

A devoted husband and best friend, he is survived by his wife, Christine (Chris nee-Sieckmann). sister-in-law, Marguerite Bronkala, of Rockford, IL, nephew Eric (Laura) Bronkala of Knoxville, TN, nephew Robert Ohrmund, of Milwaukee, WI, great- nephews Jake and Luke Bronkala.

Member of Grace at Calvary Lutheran Church, Glendora
President and an All Fellows of Lions 4th District Student Speakers Foundation, Inc. serving as President for 7 years and Board Member since 1990. Past District Governor (1988-89) District 4-L2 Lions Clubs International. Served four years on the Multiple District Four (State of California) Lions Student Speakers Committee. Joined Glendora Lions Club in 1979 and served as President in 1982-83. Became a Life Member of Lions Clubs International in 2010. Proud member of Montebello Lions Club. Honored with a Melvin Jones Fellowship in 1989. Magnolia at Snow Creek Homeowners Association Orange County Cactus and Succulent Society. Always happy to assist with the many programs of the Foothill Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary.

Al was an enthusiastic vegetable gardener and collector of over 300 varieties of cactus and succulents. He loved the many trips taken with Chris to Hawaii, especially the Big Island. Avid fisherman in the lakes of Northern Wisconsin. Fan of Dixieland Jazz Festivals.
Throughout his life he truly lived the Lions' Motto, "We Serve".

Celebration of Life Service at Oakdale Mortuary/Memorial Garden, Sunset Chapel (main building) 1401 South Grand Ave., Glendora, Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. Visitation from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25. Memorials may be made to Lions 4th District Student Speakers Foundation Inc. c/o 331 Spur Trail Avenue, Walnut, CA 91789.
