JOHN I. STOLP
The Guest Book is expired.
April 20, 1920 - June 11, 2012
John was born the fifth of six children to William and Augusta Stolp in Minneapolis, Mn. Always an adventuresome lad, he headed west to join the U.S. Navy in 1937. After an Honorable Discharge in October 1945, he married his high school sweetheart, Elaine and joined the Los Angeles Police Department. A career with the police department was a perfect fit, retiring after 28 years.
He loved to hunt, fish and travel, while his golf game gave him all the adventure he could handle. John is survived by his two children, Judy and husband Gary, and John and his wife Gail; and three grandchildren, Davina and husband Tal, Jake and Cressida. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; and his grandson, Peter C. Stolp. His patience, wisdom and humor will be forever sorely missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at St. Genevieve Church in Panorama City on Saturday, June 16th at 9:30 a.m.
