MASON, Rev. James L., Ph.
Died in Santa Rosa, July 7, 2012, age 88. Dearly beloved husband of 70 years of
Norma Mason. Loving father of Gail Mason Brilling and her husband Steve of Seattle, Rodney J. Mason and his wife Nancy of St. Paul, MN; Nadine Walsworth and her husband John of Santa Rosa; and Albert J. Mason and his wife Sharon of St. Paul. He is survived by twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, and is pre-deceased by one sister and three brothers. Born in Alma, NE, he was raised in Phillipsburg Kansas. During WW II, he served in the
Air Corps Twelfth Air Force 319th Bomb Group. Reverend Mason served for over 14 years as Pastor of Oakmont Community Church. He was a long time member of the Oakmont Sirs Chapter #53, where he served as Chaplain. Formerly, Reverend Mason was a professor at Bethel University in Arden Hills, MN, where he also served on the Board of Regents. An avid cyclist, he could be seen riding throughout Oakmont.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 11:30 AM at the Oakmont Community Church. Private family inurnment. Donations in his memory may be made to the Oakmont Community Church, 6687 Oakmont Drive, Santa Rosa, CA 95409. Daniels Chapel of the Roses
