Eloise Flores

Obituary Condolences

April 10, 1918 - February 11, 2013

Eloise Flores passed away on Monday morning, February 11, 2013, in the place and manner she wished - peacefully and at home with her beloved family. In passing onto Heaven she joins her husband, Alfonso Flores, her parents, and most of her siblings and other family members who have pre-deceased her.

Eloise was born Eloysa Zepeda in Tombstone, Arizona. Her birth parents both succumbed to the flu in the epidemic of 1918-1919, and she and two brothers were raised by her aunt and uncle, who welcomed and loved them as their own, and whose children became their additional brothers and sisters. The family moved to San Fernando in the early 1920's where they remained for many years.

Eloise married Alfonso ("Blackie") Flores and together they had three children: Daniel, Sylvia and Christina. She was a wonderful wife and homemaker, who approached care of her home and family with love, concern and attention.

She is survived, mourned and greatly missed by her brother, Adolph Alvarez; her children, Daniel (and Jeanne) Flores, Christina Holcomb (and Ray Thornton), and Sylvia Peluso; her grandchildren, Dean (and Stephanie) Peluso, Christopher Flores, Adam (and Viktoriya) Flores, Stephanie Holcomb, Jessica Holcomb; and great-grandchildren, Anthony Peluso and Alex Peluso.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 19th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 20th, 9:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Mission Hills Mortuary Chapel, located at 11160 Stranwood Ave., Mission Hills, CA 91345. (Please note: on Tuesday evening the entrance is through Rinaldi). Burial will be at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
