ROBERT GEPHARD MEYLER, JR
August 9, 1920 - February 5, 2013
Bob was a 6th generation Californian. He attended Cornell University for his degree in Engineering. He met Barbara Broatch in Sequoia National Park, and they married 2 years later, eventually having 5 children. They were married 60 years before Barbara's passing in 2010.
He fought in WWII and the Korean War, retiring as a full bird Colonel. He worked for Lockheed from 1958 until 1988, and then became an enrolled agent and business consultant. He earned a Doctorate in Philosophy for original research in Business Administration.
He was an active member of the Wine & Food Society, Military Order of the World Wars, Reserve Officers Association, and a Founding Member of the Legion of the Dawn Patrol and many others. He was President of the Board of Enrolled Agents from 2002-2006 and President of the San Fernando Valley United Chambers of Commerce ( a coalition of some 23 Chambers.)
Bob is survived by his brother, James (Dorothy) Meyler; his four children, Gay (deceased) (Bob) Dawson, Robert III (Kathie), Nikki (James) Miller, Helen (Michael) Ramos, and Patrick; 17 grandchildren, Christy Fuquay, Kimberly (Corey) Lee, Heather (Marc) Salazar, Matthew Dawson, Rick (Claire) Meyler, Andrew and Heather Lynn, Bob, Jaimie, Garrett, Dakota and Haily Miller, Patrick and Christopher Dettmar, Stephanie (Randy) Welton, Adrien and Nikolas Ramos; and five great-grandchildren, Maganda Meyler, Addison and Jordyn Lee, Clayton Salazar and Landon Miller.
Services will be held in Encino on Saturday, February 23rd, at noon, and he will later be interred at Arlington National Cemetery, in Washington, DC.
