RUSSELL WILLIAM BONIFACE
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on August 22, 2013. Russell will be remembered as a dedicated family man, passionate educator, and parishioner of great faith.
Born on June 4, 1925 in West New York, NJ to Louise and Charles Boniface, Russell served his country in WWII in the navy. After the war, Russell took advantage of the GI Bill to earn a bachelor's degree at St. Peter's College. Russell worked tirelessly in education as a teacher, counselor, and principal for over thirty-eight years. He loved his job and touched the lives of thousands of his students.
Russell met the love of his life, Arlene Eccleston in July of 1949. The couple married in March of 1951 and together went on to raise twelve children. Wherever he went Russell took a genuine interest in people friends, neighbors, strangers every person who crossed his path mattered to him. However, his love for his family always came first.
Russell is survived by his wife, Arlene, his 12 children, 24 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Russell will take place on Friday, August 30th, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Canoga Park.
