DALE L. AYERS|
February 27, 1926 - April 11, 2014
Dale Ayers, age 88, was born in Los Angeles, CA. A resident of the San Fernando Valley, he passed away in Mission Hills, CA. at Providence Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills.
Dale received his high school diploma from Van Nuys High School, where he
was a gifted athlete. Upon graduation, he received a college scholarship and professional baseball offers but he served his country instead as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. After the war, Dale served his community as well. He protected and served with the Los Angeles Police Department for 32 years. Dale also worked as a general contractor for 20 years. Throughout his life, Dale continued to donate to numerous charities and organizations.
He is survived by his sons, Mike Ayers and wife Renee, and Jerry Ayers and wife Jerrie; his daughters, Lisa Ayers Rust and husband Doug, and Sherri Landeaur and husband Craig; nine grandchildren, Taylor, Trealisa, Pennie, Amelia, Cole, Olivia, Jill, Tara and Lara; five great grandchildren; and his beloved and caring partner, Stella Jordan. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalind R. Ayers.
Services will be held Friday, April 18, 2014, 12:00 noon, at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in Newhall.
