John Dennis Obituary

John (Jack) Ronald Dennis

January 28, 1925- December 31, 2014

Mr. Dennis passed away peacefully at The Gardens at Park Balboa in Van Nuys, CA after a brief illness. He was 89.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, he served with the Australian Air Force during World War 2 and danced with the Borovansky Ballet Company. He left his homeland in 1949 to dance his way around the world, which brought him complete happiness. Just a couple of highlights of his storied career were: principal dancer of the Vancouver, British Columbia Ballet Company, having the first song and dance trio "The Footnotes" to air on Canadian television, acting in the original cast of Camelot on Broadway (1960-1962), choreographing the United States Men's Figure Skating Champion's routine for the 1972 Olympic Games held in Sapporo, Japan, and being one of the founding members of the Blank Theatre Company in Los Angeles. To all of us who knew him personally, Johns performances on stage, tv, movies and in commercials always brought smiles to our faces. He will be missed.

A celebration of his life will be held in Mid- February. Details will be posted on Mr. Dennis' website http://johnronalddennis.com. His ashes will then be returned to his homeland and the urn will be mounted on his families graves at the Preston General Cemetery on Plenty Road, Kingsbury, Melbourne Australia.

John was such a loving and caring man. He filled our hearts with so much joy. His letters and later his emails were always filled with his daily life. I always made the best cards for John. Somehow the void will never be the same. I hope that he is teaching my sister to dance in heaven. Love you John.
