Joann Singleton Silcox, 67, of Jellico, died Feb. 7. She was a wonderful and caring woman, who had a strong love for her family and friends. Joann attended the Church of God Mountain Assembly in Jellico.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, William 'Little Bill' Silcox Jr.; father Clyde Singleton; mother, Annie Barkley Singleton; two sisters; Jetta Blankenship and Bessie Mae Leach; three brothers Clyde Ernest Singleton, Jack Singleton, and Bobby Singleton.
Joann is survived by her husband, William 'Bill' Silcox, of Jellico; daughter, Barbara Lynn Lawson, of Williamsburg, Ky.; five grandchildren Edward Lawson and Taylor Lawson, of Williamsburg, Ky., James Matthew Silcox, Elijah Douglas Silcox, and Samuel Ross Silcox, all of Corbin, Ky.; daughter-in-law Maudrie Johnson Silcox, of Corbin, Ky.; sisters. Betty Lou Neely, of Jellico, Lottie and husband, Edgar Shelton, of Detroit, Mich., Shirley and husband Roger Ayers, of Williamsburg, Ky., Thelma Perry, of Williamsburg, Ky.; Brenda and husband Bob Lawson, of Williamsburg, Ky.; brothers, Dave Singleton and wife Karen, of Detroit, Mich., Willie Singleton and Melody, of Williamsburg, Ky., Joe and wife Phyllis Singleton, of Williamsburg, Ky; brother-in-law Estel Leach, of Detroit Mich.; step-mother Christine Singleton, of Williamsburg, Ky.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to mourn her passing. Special thanks to the Dr. Kabir and Shirley Leach for all their love and kindness, as well as all the family members and friends for helping in our time of need.
Funeral services were Feb. 9 with the Rev. Scott Landes and the Rev. Ray Landes officiating. Interment was Feb. 10 in the Douglas Cemetery.
Llewellyn Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
