Julia Ward McGhee

Julia Ward McGhee, 84, of Jacksboro, died Feb. 11.
She was a member of Red Ash Baptist Church and a volunteer at Open Arms Ministries for 24 years. She loved children and was known as the Candy and Toy Lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Cleo Ellison Ward; brothers, Jim and Bill Ward; sister, Mary Green.
She is survived by her husband, Ben McGhee; daughter, Diana and husband, David Hayter, of LaFollette; grandchildren, Brian and Judy Walker, Eric Walker, Quincy and Nicole McMurphy; three great-grandsons; brother, Cara and wife, Zola Ward, of Michigan, Jerry and wife, Mary Lynn Ward, of Indiana; sister, Louvina Russell, of Clarkrange; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Feb. 14 at Red Ash Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Braden and the Rev. Bruce Wallace officiating.
Interment was at Jacksboro Cemetery.
Cross-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
