Lawrence E. Hopkins, 83, of Granite City, Ill. Died Nov. 18, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. He was born March 9, 1930 in Newcomb. He married Mary Anne Moses Hopkins on July 24, 1948 in Jellico. He retired in 1980 from A.O. Smith Corporation after 29 years of dedicated factory work. After his retirement he worked as a security officer from 1980 until 1991 at the Granite City Port District. H was a member of Niedringhus United Methodist Church in Granite City. He enjoyed his days of traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and repairing just about anything. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Anne Moses Hopkins; brother-in-law, Gene Moses.
He is survived by one daughter, Joyce Elizabeth Hopkins of Granite City; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Ray and Jennifer Hopkins of Rising Pawn, Ga. Two grandsons, Steven Hopkins of Boston, Mass., and David Hopkins of Chattanooga; two brothers and sister-in-law, Bill and Barabara Hopkins and Don and Carol Hopkins; two sisters and brother-in-law, Lois Moses and Shirley and Butch Davis, all of Knoxville; other extended family and friends.
Funeral services were Nov. 23 at Llewellyns Funeral Home.
Interment was at Douglas Cemetery in Wooldridge. Memorials may be made to the
