Leota C. Overton, 82 of LaFollette, died Aug. 31. She was a member of New Horizon Baptist Church, and Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Tommy Overton, an infant son; parents, Ulysses Trammell and Lassie Phillips Trammell; sisters, Geneva Bishop, and brother, Charles Trammell.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzi Wilson and husband, Sonny; son, Tommy Overton and wife, JoAnn, all of LaFollette; grandchildren, Whit Wilson and wife, Melinda, Emily Carson and husband, Krey, Wayne Overton, and Heather Overton Lamb and husband, Patrick; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Thomas Wilson, Bo and Max Farris, and Harper Overton; sisters, Charlotte Welch and husband, Lendon, of Farragut; brother-in-Law, Sidney Bishop, of Jefferson City; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Trammell, of Lake City, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were Sept. 2, 8 p.m. at New Horizon Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Thomas and the Rev. Lynn Ray officiating.
Interment was in Powell Valley Cemetery and Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation of East Tennessee, 4450 Walker Boulevard, Suite 2, Knoxville, TN 37917 or New Horizon Baptist Church Youth Fund, P. O. Box 459, LaFollette, TN 37766.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
