Cal Boshears, age 82, of Jacksboro, passed away Sunday, June 24. He was a member of Woodlake Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for many years. He was owner and operator of Cal Boshears Oil Company for 27 years. He was preceded in death by daughter, Jana Kay Boshears; parents, Brown and Bertha Boshears; brothers, Harold, Wheeler, Wade and Eldon Boshears; sisters, Opal Phillips, Lillie Kidwell and Mary Hannah Riggs; mother and father-in-law, Otis and Minnie Shetterly.
He is survived by his wife of 63-and-a-half years, Faye Shetterly Boshears; daughter, Gayle and Mickey Carter of Jacksboro; sons, Gordon and Lois Boshears of Arlington, Texas, Wendell and Heather Boshears of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Erica and Tyler Kirby of Jacksboro, Owen and Max Boshears of Jacksboro; great-grandchild, Robert Kirby of Jacksboro; brothers, Hugh and Frankie Boshears of Jacksboro, Morton and Ola Mae Boshears of Alexandria, Virginia; brother-in-law, Dave Riggs of Florida; sisters-in-laws, Virginia Boshears, Barbara Queener Boshears and Barbara Boshears, all of Jacksboro. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 8 p.m. in the Cross-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Asbury and the Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson officiating. Interment will be Friday, June 29 at 11 a.m. in Mt. Paran Cemetery.
