Carl F. Rutherford, 69, of Jacksboro, died April 15, 2013. He was a retired postal carrier, U.S. Army Veteran, a Christian, and attended Calvary Baptist Church. Carl was a well known and very devoted coach, referee and friend to hundreds of this area's youth.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Rutherford; special aunt, Mary Rutherford; special friend and father-in-law, the Rev. Ernest Orick.
He is survived by daughter, Emily Whited and husband, Joe, of Jacksboro; son, David Rutherford and wife, Heather, of LaFollette; grandchildren, Ashley, Madison and Karlie Whited, Peyton Brandenburg and Zoriana Rutherford; mother of his children, Linda Rutherford; special friend and companion, Carolyn Disney of Jacksboro; special children, Wayne Smith and wife, Denise, of LaFollette, Scott Smith of LaFollette, and Joy Terry and husband, Jimmy, of Clinton; special grandchildren, Jacob and Jonah Terry, Andrew and Chase Smith, Victoria, Christina, and Joe Smith; special friends, Coach Ronald Murray and Opal Orick; life-long friend, Don Fields; several other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were April 18 with the Rev. Danny Wilson officiating. Interment was April 19 at Campbell Memorial gardens with military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
