The Guest Book is expired.

E. Wayne Davis, DDS, 78, died June 1 at the Huntsville (Ala.) Hospital after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Bess Davis of LaFollette.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Kay Davis; daughters, Sandy Davis and husband, Joey, of Seattle, Wash., Ann Davis of Jacksboro, Mary Davis and husband, Greg, of Friendsville, Joanna Davis and husband, Chris, of Huntsville, Ala; grandson, Kyle Robertson of Springsville, Ala; sister, Billie Mountain of Knoxville; brother, Fred Davis of Andersonville; many loving cousins and friends, all of whom will miss his presence in their lives.
Wayne was a dentist who dedicated his life to making people happy, retiring after 20 years of service to his country as an Air Force Colonel, followed by 20 years of private practice in Anchorage, Alaska, and Knoxville. He was the former director of the University of Tennessee Dental Residency Program. He was loved by his patients, formal dental residence, and his fellow dentists and staff. Wayne never met a stranger and always made people smile.
Wayne lived an adventurous life doing the things he loved, from hunting in the deserts of Libya and the mountains of Turkey, to discovering all the adventure and joys of Alaska, to spending the winter months of his retirement years fishing and making more life-long friends in the Florida Keys.
Wayne lived his life to the fullest and loved his family and friends dearly. He had a saying, 'Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened,' and he left this earth with no regrets. As his family, we will try to follow his example and keep close all the wonderful memories of our husband, father, Papaw and brother. We are so grateful and blessed by the love and kindness we have received from family and friends all across the country, and especially thankfull for the care and compassion of the doctors and staff who treated Wayne at Huntsville Hospital.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on June 8 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, Ala. A memorial service and celebration of life will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to or Wounded Warriors Project.
