Edgar "Ed" Ivey, age 72, of Caryville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 6. Ed was a loving husband of 52 years, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved singing and going to church at Faith Baptist Church of Caryville, where he was a Deacon for several years.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Pearl (Davis) Ivey; brothers, John Ivey, Owen Ivey, and Howard Ivey; sisters, Pauline Shown, Effalee Miller, and Alma Jones.
Survived by wife, Margaret Ivey of Caryville; sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Wendy Ivey of Jacksboro, Gary and Diana Ivey of Loudon, Jeff and Ruth Ivey of LaFollette; sister, Lucille Lynch and husband, John of Indiana; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Jamie, Mara, Logan and Caitlin Ivey; 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 9 in the Martin-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Ault and the Rev. Tom Reece officiating. Interment was in Evans Cemetery with the Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of the graveside service.
Martin-Wilson Funeral Home, of LaFollette, was in charge of arrangements.
