Elmer "Junie" Odell Baird, Jr., 54, passed away in Lexington on Friday, Sept. 28. Junie was born on Aug. 24, 1964 in LaFollette, Tennessee to Maudie and Elmer Odell Baird, Sr. Junie was wed to his beloved wife, Ann, on Sept. 12, 2003. He loved to hunt and fish with friends and family. While others may not have realized his ability to sing, that is one of many things his wife and children will dearly miss. He was a fix-it man who could work wonders with metal. He welded a complete playset for his children that even he and his wife could use. He was a dedicated employee of Overhead Door of Lexington for over 30 years. His ability to solve problems was among the best, even finding solutions the factory could not come up with. Elmer was a dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
In addition to his wife, Ann, Junie is survived by his mother, Maudie Baird; sons, Justin (Vianey) Baird and Tyler Baird; daughters, Brittany and Kylee Baird; brother, Ron (Jeannie) Baird; sister, Teresa (Greg) Columbia, and grandchildren, Aaron Midkiff, Bailey Wertenberger, and Olivia Neal. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Junie was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Odell Baird, Sr. and infant sister, Terry Lynn Baird.
In honor of Junie's legacy, his family would like memorial contributions directed to , 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 USA / [email protected] in lieu of flowers.
