Floyd O. Burris, 77, of LaFollette, died April 21. He was a well-known merchant and businessman in LaFollette, being co-owner of Western Auto, General Manager of Shelby Petroleum, and dispatcher at Hoskins Oil. He was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard, a member and usher of Fincastle United Methodist Church, former member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, a big fan of the U.T. Vols and Lady Vols Basketball. He loved woodworking and took great joy in seeing his grandson take on that hobby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hope Weir Burris and Margie Ford Burris.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice Burris of LaFollette; daughter, Vikki Burns and husband, Brian, of Caryville; son, Kevin Burris and Thomas Casey, of Chattanooga; two grandchildren, Zachary Madison Burns and wife, Megan, of Jacksboro and Talor Burns of Caryville; great-grandchild, Rylee Henderson of Jacksboro; brother, Howard Arnold Burris of Syracuse, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Martha Childress of Maryville and Ruby Childress of LaFollette; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were April 23 with the Rev. Larry Best and the Rev. Lonnie Eldridge officiating. Interment was at Fincastle Cemetery.
The Family requests that memorial contributions be made to Fincastle United Methodist Church or Fincastle United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 629 Old Middlesboro Hwy. LaFollette, TN 37766.
