Jerry L. Stout, 70, of LaFollette, died July 10. He taught for six years in Florida and retired from the Campbell County School System after 29 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Georgetown, Ky., was Amateur Radio Operator KB4VRE, member and chapter chairman of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, member of the Board of Directors of CORA, member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, received the Chairman's Volunteer Award for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, member of Elk Restoration Project. He taught Hunter Safety Courses through the TWRA and TN Wildlife Federation, taught mountain and high angle rescue classes for law enforcement and rescue squads. An avid boater, fisherman, hunter, all around outdoorsman and sportsman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. And Emily Josephine Archer Stout.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Josephine Young 'Jo' Stout, of LaFollette and several cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were July 13 at the LaFollette United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chris Stanfield officiating. Interment was in Jellico Cemetery.

Walters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
