Katelyn Ann-May Norman, 14, of Jacksboro, died March 29 at 8:23 a.m. From the moment she entered this world, the journey of God's plan began.

Katelyn was an active member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. She was very energetic and lived life to the fullest. She was always a friend to everyone and a strong advocate against bullying. Some of Katelyn's interests and hobbies included music, especially classical, arts, studying geology and oceanography, collecting comics, playing the banjo, and Star Wars.
Her favorite movie of all time was Tim Burton's, 'Corpse Bride.' Her favorite artist was Vincent Van Gogh, and his painting, 'Starry Night.' Katelyn was strong-willed with self-determination and a fighter all the way, a legend of her day.
Katelyn was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Millard and Bertha Nelson, Nathan and Vannia Massengill, and R.T. Norman.
She is survived by grandparents John and Genelle Hausser, Donald and Faye Nelson, and Paul Norman all of Jacksboro; parents Kelly and Erica Nelson; brothers Thomas Sowder and Luke Nelson; sister Lakien Nelson all of Jacksboro; brother Dylan McCall of South Carolina; aunts Jennifer Norman and Brittany Hausser of Jacksboro; special cousin Leona Byrd of LaFollette, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Katelyn's life was destined for a divine purpose in which she wanted awareness brought to childhood cancer. Her last wish to be fulfilled is the development of the Foundation of Katelyn Ann-May Norman Childhood Cancer Awareness; in which her memory will live forever. Live Like Kate!
A celebration of Katelyn's life was April 1 with the Rev. Ronnie Arnold officiating. Interment was April 2 at Bakers Forge Cemetery.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of these arrangements.
