William Marvin Broyles, 83 of, Maitland, Fla., formerly of LaFollette, died July 17. He was born May 11, 1930 in LaFollette. He served in the United States Navy from 1953-1957. ÊAs an engineer, he worked for several companies including Belock Instrument Corporation, International Laser Systems and GEC Marconi Avionics where he received special mention for his contributions to the F-16 Lantirn Hud Project. He retired as president of GEC Marconi Avionics in 1997 when he began consulting on defense projects. He earned a Ph.D. in business and attended several universities including the Lincoln Memorial University and University of Tennessee and was an avid Volunteers fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Lula Broyles along with seven brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jena Archer Broyles of Maitland, Fla.; two daughters, Tricia and husband, Bob Atchison of Winter Park, Fla. and Kimberly Reddick and fiancŽ, Craig Tepker of Suwanee, Ga. He is also survived by the little dude, Griffin Atchison, a brother-in-law, Garland Eubanks of LaFollette, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were July 21, with the Rev. Duane Mills officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Winter Park, 1021 N. New York Ave. Winter Park, FL 32789.
