CAVE SPRING — Donald Lewis "Happy" Hannah, 75, of 5 Hughes Street, Cave Spring, and formerly of LaGrange, died Wednesday evening, November 6, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Hannah was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on May 18, 1938, son of the late Marvin M. Hannah and the late Edith Correll Hannah. Mr. Hannah lived in LaGrange, Georgia, for a number of years where he owned and operated Happy Hannah's stores in LaGrange and Hogansville in the 1970s and the early 1980s. Mr. Hannah moved to Cave Spring 26 years ago, and owned and operated the Cave Spring Freezer Locker for several years, and was associated with Sam's Club of Rome as a butcher until June of this year.
Mr. Hannah cherished telling stories about the fun times he shared with his family and friends, stories of his Native American heritage, and stories of the good times he had had enjoying life to the fullest.
Besides his parents, Mr. Hannah was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dollie Hannah on December 8, 2007.
Mr. Hannah is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Donna Hannah Ishee and her husband Ron of LaGrange; Mrs. Karla Hannah Molina and her husband John of LaGrange; and Miss Hanna Hannah of Cave Spring; and by his son, McCamey Hannah of Cave Spring. One sister, Mrs. Jean Prather of St. Petersburg, Florida, and four grandchildren, Jessica Molina, Ashleigh Winter, John Molina and Jamie Whatley also survive.
Memorial services for Mr. Hannah will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at John House's Cave Spring Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends there from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
