Dr. A. Glenn Bailey, 79, of LaGrange passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at his home.

Dr. Bailey was born March 6, 1935 in Etowah, TN, son of the late Luther H. Bailey and Gladys Rose Thomas Bailey. He had lived in LaGrange most of his life and was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, The Fellow of American College of Surgeons, and South Eastern Surgical Congress. He served on the Board of Trustees for First Federal Bank, West Georgia Medical Center, American Red Cross, and was on the original Board of Trustee for the Florence Hand Home. He was a member of the LaGrange Rotary Club and served as President of Clark-Holder Clinic for 9 years. Dr. Bailey was employed with Clark-Holder Clinic as a surgeon before retiring.

Dr. Bailey served in the U.S. Navy for 11 years during which time he reached the rank of Full Commander. During his military service he served on the navy vessel "Repose" during Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Bailey; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Molly Bailey; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Mark Nunes; and three grandchildren, Matthew Nunes, Josh Nunes, and Hayleigh Nunes.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with The Reverend R. Allen Pruitt officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 207 North Greenwood Street, LaGrange, GA 30240 or the American Red Cross, 900 Dallas Street, LaGrange, GA 30240 in memory of Dr. A. Glenn Bailey.
