Albert Joe Redd passed away Saturday at WGH.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday at 2:00 at Eastside Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Stiggers will officiate. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery.

Mr. Redd was born February 7, 1931, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Willie Shepard and Martha Clark.

He joined the church at an early age, and later united with his family at Eastside Baptist Church.

Albert attended Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He joined the US Army serving in the Korean War before transferring to Hawaii. He also served as a Chef for the University of Missouri, the Country Club of LaGrange, and Roger's Bar B Que; he later retired from Defender Chemicals. He was a former member of the Golden Knights Social Club.

Survivors include his daughters: Brenda Redd, Atlanta, GA; Cathy (Acie) Ogletree, Beverly Stenson, Daphne Rivers, all of LaGrange, GA; loving and devoted grandchildren; great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Simpson, IN; twin brothers, Floyd Shepherd and Lloyd Shepherd; nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The family will be at their homes at 1007 Motley Avenue and 1006 Murphy Avenue.
