Mary Anne Williams, 62, of LaGrange, GA passed away March 3, 2014 at her residence. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 beginning at 2:00 P.M. at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. 31907. Reverend David Howel will be officiating.
Mary Anne Williams was born May 7, 1951, in Columbus, GA. daughter of the late S.B. Williams and Hazel Arrington Williams. Mary Anne was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mary Anne attended high school at The Westminsters School, in Atlanta, Georgia; she then enrolled at Emory University. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority; she was elected fraternity sweetheart of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Mary Anne graduated from Emory in 1973 with her BBA. After college Mary Anne was employed by Merrill Lynch, she was one of the first female brokers to work for the company. Later Mary Anne was a self-employed investor and entrepreneur having successfully started and run several businesses.
Mary Anne traveled extensively worldwide and loved all of God's creation, but especially her beloved dogs. She developed an appreciation for God's beautiful world and the environment; became a certified Master Gardner, and saw God in nature. She was also a licensed airplane pilot.
Survivors include, brother, Stephen B. Williams, Jr.; nieces, Lowrey McCabe, and husband David and new born son Cam, Abby Miller, and husband Landon, Molly Williams, and nephew, Stephen B. Williams III.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to either the United Methodist Children's Home in Decatur, GA. or the West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, GA.
