Luvern Blair

Mr. Luvern Blair, 81, of LaGrange, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 06, 2014, at Grady Hospital, Atlanta, GA.

Mr. Blair was born September 12, 1932, in Randolph County, AL, son of the late Luther O. Blair and Icie Mason Blair. He was employed with Milliken and Company, Callaway Mills Division, as a department manager before retiring. After retirement, Mr. Blair was very active as a local farmer and was a member of the Cattleman's Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Blair and Luther Blair, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jimmie Lou Blair of LaGrange; daughter, Cindy (Russell) Chambless of Forsyth, GA; son, Ferrell (Tracie) Blair of LaGrange; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Chambless, Victoria Chambless (Loston) Lee, Catherine Chambless, Carson Chambless, Hutch Blair, and Haryson Blair; great granddaughter, Addison Lee; brother, Brenton Blair of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 8, 2014, in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Max McCord, Reverend Charles Redmond, and Mr. Larry Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The gathering of family and friends will be this evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the in memory of Mr. Luvern Blair.
