Mr. James Keener Lynn, 58, of LaGrange passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014.

Keener was born February 25, 1956, in Greenville, AL, son of Gloria Kimbrough Lynn and the late Thomas Miller Lynn, Sr. Including his father, he was predeceased by his first wife Joy Johnson and his brother Thomas Miller Lynn, Jr.

Lynn was a member of First United Methodist Church in LaGrange and served on the administrative board there. He received his B.S. degree from Auburn University and his master's degree from Texas Tech University, and was employed by Genesis Physicians, Inc. for the past several years.

In the past, he was a member of Kiwanis Club of LaGrange, a member and past director of the LaGrange Chamber of Commerce, past director of United Way of LaGrange, past president of the of LaGrange, member and past president of the Georgia Medical Group Management Association, Council on Legislation member with the Medical Association of Georgia, and member and a fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

Lynn was a recipient of the Eagle Scout Award, one of his proudest moments was seeing his son earn that same honor. He was a former cubmaster and past chairman of the Yellow Jacket District Boy Scouts of America.

He was a lifelong outdoorsman, and was a member of the Troup County Sportsman's Club. His interests included wild turkey hunting with his son, biking at Callaway Gardens, boating at Lake Martin with his wife, and hiking and camping with his family.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Deborah G. Lynn; his son, Gresham Miller Lynn; his stepdaughter, Elizabeth Ann Patton; his stepmother, Laureen Hendry Lynn; his sister, Barbara Lynn Staples and her husband Dick Staples of Alexandria, VA; and his brother, Jeffrey Wade Lynn and his wife Cindy Lynn of Baton Rouge, LA; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Henderson Traylor Eagle Scout Scholarship of First United Methodist Church, 401 Broad Street LaGrange, GA 30240
