Mrs. Blanche Foster Levens, 83, of LaGrange passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Levens was born September 29, 1930 in Troup County, Georgia, daughter of the late Joseph Columbus Foster and Epsie Gilland Foster. She was a member of Callaway Baptist Church and a homemaker all of her life. She took great delight in seeing to the needs of her family and tending to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Levens received her education from the LaGrange City School System. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Isaac Levens and brother, Melvin Foster.
Survivors include two sons, Donnie (Gail) Levens and Roger (Becky) Levens; four grandchildren, Dawn (Chuck) Redmond, Brian (Lisa) Levens, Todd (Amy) Levens, and Holley Cardwell; six great grandchildren, Lily Redmond, Aubrie Cardwell, Andrew Levens, Lauren Levens, Isaac Levens, and Ethan Levens; sister, Irene McKinney of Collins, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The Funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 3, 2014 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Brad Thompson and Reverend Chuck Redmond officiating. The gathering of family friends will be Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. til 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
