Earl Wells passed to Heaven this past Saturday evening, August 25, 2012, in Poway, and now has joined his wife, Eleanor, and his friends. Earl was born November 28, 1918, in Omaha, NE. |
He graduated from UC Berkeley and joined the U.S. Army prior to WWII. As an infantry Lieutenant, he served in combat in the Pacific theatre. He stayed in the reserves after the war and was recalled to active duty and served in the Korean War. Earl retired as a Major.
Earl spent the majority of his working life in the insurance industry for The Hartford, ending his career while living in Reno, NV. He and his wife, Eleanor, moved to Rancho Bernardo to be near their only daughter and granddaughter. While his health was good, he attended St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Poway.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Janice (Gary) De Spain; granddaughter, Jennifer (Paul) Freeman; and niece, Barbara Dixon.
Services will be held August 29, 2012, at 1pm at St. Michael's Church.
