William Mansir Obituary
Bill "Grandpa" Mansir passed away April 16, 2012. He was born March 21, 1941, and raised in San Diego, California. He grew up in Mission Valley back when it was farms and ranches. He left San Diego for ten years while serving his country in the United States Navy. Upon his return to San Diego, he followed his heart and dedicated his life to helping people and putting smiles on their faces.
Bill has always been a very active and supportive parent and friend to the kids of the 4-H and FFA programs. At the county fairs, it was often heard, "Hi Grandpa", from all the AG kids. For the last 12 years of his life he would go to the San Diego County Fair and cook for the Ramona FFA during market week. Bill was also active with El Cap Stadium Association and East County Fair. He was pretty well known in Ramona for his famous Tri-Tip, cooked with his secret rub, which he would cook at the Ramona High School Football games, other FFA events and with his friends and family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Teri Mansir of Ramona; his son, Thomas Cody Mansir of Campo, CA; daughters, Katie Mansir of Campo, CA, and Jodi Hebert of OK; brother, Kenneth Mansir of Torrance, CA; sister, Marsha Pignataro of Ridgecrest, CA; stepdaughter, Tamara Wade of Valley Center, CA; and stepson, Dustin Woolsey of Ramona, CA.
Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ramona, CA, on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 5 PM. There will also be a "Celebration of Life" held at the Lakeside Rodeo Grounds on Friday, May 4, 2012, from 4-8 PM.
