James Stodola, of Rancho Bernardo, was born and raised in Daggett, MI. He attended Michigan State University where he graduated with a degree in Police Administration. After graduating college, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served 26 years, retiring as a Colonel. He served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Bronze Star (w/Combat "V"), the Navy Commendation Medal (w/Combat "V") and the National Defense Service Medal, among others.
After retiring from the Marine Corps he worked for the County of San Diego. He worked as an Aide for Supervisor John MacDonald and then went on to be the Veteran Service Officer for San Diego County.
James was a loving husband to his wife, Sandy; a loving father to his children, Jim and Stacy; and a loving brother to his sister, Patricia. He will be missed so much, but we know he will always be with us and watching out for all of us. "Semper Fi"
