Mrs. Laura Evelyn Morris, 92, a resident of Olustee, Florida, died Monday, February 25, 2013 in the Haven Hospice of the Suwannee Valley following an extended illness. A native of Concorde, North Carolina, Mrs. Morris had been a resident of Olustee for the past ten years. Mrs. Morris had worked as a spindle worker for a cotton mill in North Carolina for many years prior to retiring. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Morris had a passion for Racing. She learned to like the sport at an early age due to being closely related to the famed Junior Johnson "moonshiner extraordinaire" and working with the likes of Ralph Earnhardt. She enjoyed all facets of the sport and "mud bogging" too. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry X.L. Morris and five of her children.
She is survived by her son, Fred Morris of Olustee, Florida. Two grandchildren also survive.
