Mrs. Susan Jane Summerville Ourso. Age 61, of Lake City, Fla. died Sunday, Jan. 20, in the Shands at Lake Shore Hospital, Lake City, Fla. following a long illness. She was a life long resident of Lake City and the daughter of L.B. and Blanche Douglas Summerville. She retired from PCS Phosphate, White Springs, Fla. after 35 years of service as a senior secretary. She was a graduate of Columbia High School Class of 1969, a member of the Cattleman's Association and played piano at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Lulu Baptist Church and Bethlehem Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by her husband, Larry J. Ourso, Sr. of Lake City, Fla.: One beloved son, Andy (Dana) Garland of Lake City, Fla.: Her mother, Blanche Strickland of Lake City, Fla.: Three sisters, Betty Holliday, Sandra O'Neal, Celia (Charlie) Douberly all of Lake City, Fla.: One brother, Terry (Dottie) Summerville of Atlanta, Ga.: Three grandchildren, Drew, Dara and Max Gaylard: One niece, Amber L. (Nathan) Meade: Two nephews, Mayse W. (Lisa) Holliday, II and Kenneth O. Holliday: Seven stepchildren, Laura (Dale) Brown, Larry J. (Debbie) Ourso, Jr., Lonnie L. (Lisa) Ourso, Lynette (Walter) Barker, Lorelle (Dale) Thibodeaux, Loilta (Frank) Wilson and Lanya Ourso all of Plaquemine, La.: 12 step-grandchildren , one great step-granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M., Thursday, Jan 24, in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Sister Judy Fair officiating. Interment will be in Douglas Cemetery, Union County, Fla. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, 2659 S.W. Main Blvd., Lake City, Fla. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

I was sorry to hear this morning of Susan'a passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. We worked together at Swift Creek in the 1980s. I have great memories of those times. She gave me a nickname that only a few will understand, "the feral spectre". God's speed Susan.
