Anderson, Mr. Max Johnson  
Mr. Max Johnson Anderson, of Lake City, FL, was born August 24, 1930 and passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at 9 pm at the age of 85. He loved traveling, hunting, fishing, camping, Nascar, and golf.  He was in the Navy from 1947-1952, and retired from Pan-Am Airlines & Fleet Cargo Trucking Company. Max was a caring, loving, hardworking, father & grandfather, who will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Elizabeth Anderson, his second wife Dorothy Anderson, his son, Michael Carl Anderson, and his granddaughter Sabrina Lucille Anderson. He is survived by his sister Betty Fordham, Utah, his daughters, Faye (Gene) Smith, Dianna (Wayne) Schuman, Terri (Jack) Castelo, grandchildren Michelle, Mikey, Leanne, Sean and Scherry; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families; step-daughter Diann (Carson) Wallace, his special friend Caroline Harris his foster son, Jonathan and many good friends. A Memorial Service (officiated by Rev. Doug Sides) will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Yulee Baptist Church; 85971 Harts Rd., Yulee, FL 32041, phone number (904) 225-5128. Dinner will be provided after the services in the fellowship hall.  Arrangements by ICS Cremation & Funeral Home.

Bass, Leona Mathis  
On July 21, 2015, our beloved Leona Mathis Bass, 98, went home to be with her Lord and Savior.  She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 25, at Beggs Funeral Home at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow at San Pedro Cemetery, Madison, Florida.   Born on February 8, 1917, she was a life-long resident of Madison, Florida.  She was a charter member (and also the oldest member) of Faith Baptist Church.  She was a previous member of New Home Baptist Church.  As long as health permitted, her ministry was calling church members who had missed church and inviting others to attend.  She attended Enterprise School until she left to marry the love of her life, Milledge Bass.  Together they worked side-by-side on the farm until his death on January 2, 1963.  They were avid fishermen, fishing in San Pedro Bay as well as in Tan Yard Creek.  She loved to read and did beautiful embroidery and crochet.  In later years, her eyesight failed, and she listened to books on tape.  She was devoted to her family and continued to share her wisdom with them to the end. Left to mourn her passing are one son:  Edgar Bass (Vera) of Jacksonville; three daughters-Virginia Murphy (Alonzo) and Doris Bishop (Donald) both of Madison, and Lucille Osborne of Lake City:  seven grandchildren – Gayle Cason (Larry); Michael Bass (Penny) both of Jacksonville; Al and Jerry Murphy both of Madison; Teresa Bayless (Jeff) of Valdosta, Georgia; Don Bishop (Allison) of Perry, Florida; and Steve Coody of Lake City, Florida.  She was blessed with 16 Great –grandchildren; and 9 Great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.   Leona Bass loved flowers and had a green thumb.  Flowers may be sent; or in honor of her love of her Lord and her church, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Faith Baptist Church, 1135 U.S. 90, Madison, Florida 32340. Curinton, Mr. Samuel J.  
Mr. Samuel J. Curinton a former resident of Lake City, FL, son of the late Sylvanus N (Bee) and Eva Curinton, passed July 19, 2015. Mr. Curinton is survived by a devoted family that includes Sisters: Marjorie Anderson, Fleecia Felton; brother: Ervin Curinton; niece: Verlean King; nephew: Angelo Felton; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Curinton may be viewed Friday at Carthage Chapel from 4:00 p.m. Until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 25, at Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 2407 S.L. Badger Circle East, Rev. Herb Anderson, pastor. And the interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery.

Feraro, Mr. Apolinario C. "Paul"  
Mr. Apolinario (Paul) C. Feraro, 86, passed away on May 22, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center, Lake City after a extended illness. He is the son of the late Simeon and Eulogia Feraro, born in Sison, Pangasinan, Philippines. He was a student at The University of the Philippines when he joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 where he retired in 1974, while he was in Newport, R.I. he moved his family to Fremont, he was employed with the U.S. Post office Service for seventeen years. He and his wife moved to Wellborn in 1994. He was preceded in death by his only son Ace, his parents, three sisters and three brothers. Survivors included his loving wife of fifty years, Rosario, daughters; Ruby (Gilbert) Estrada, Roxy (Christopher) Sigua, Rory (Jay) Keenan, grandchildren; Cassandra, Caitlyn, Kirsten and Carson Sigua; Kathryne and Ace Michael Keenan, sister; Erlinda Mckinn, brother; Dr. Simeon Feraro Jr., in the Philippines, sister- in – law, Dr. Josefina Lins; many nieces and nephews also survive. A Memorial Mass will be conducted on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00am, at Epiphany Catholic Church, 1905 SW Epiphany Court, Lake City, Fl., with Father Michael Pendergraft and Father Andrzel Mitera. Graham, Mr. Herbert. L. "Leroy"  
Mr. Herbert "Leroy" Graham, 76, was born August 31, 1938 in Kingston, Jamaica to Edmond and Ivy Graham.  He departed this life on July 17, 2015 after a lengthy illness.  Leroy is preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Ivy Graham and siblings, Teriance and Perita Anne Deliford. Harrison, Mrs. Mildred Eloise  
Mrs. Mildred Eloise Harrison, 87, of Ft. White, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center. Born on April 18, 1928 in Columbia County to the late Ressie Williams and Matilda Raulerson. She was one of nine children, loved gardening, cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and fishing. She was a member of Elim Baptist Church. Mrs. Harrison was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Clinton (J.C.) Harrison (1981), son; Roy Harrison, daughter; Phyllis Beil, sisters; Lois, Thelma, Euralee, brothers; R.B., Charles, W.C. and Jeral. Survivors include her son; Joseph Randy Harrison, of Ft. White, Fl., one sister; Adell Torrez, of Homestead, Fl., Son-in-law David E. Beil, grandchildren; D.J. Beil (Tiana) of Sunset, La and Brandon Beil (Amanda) of Lake City, Fl, great grandson; Bentley Beil of Sunset, La, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Harrison will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Elim Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Elim Church Cemetery. Hartman-Swanson, Mrs. Anna Marie "Ann"  
Mrs. Anna "Ann" Marie Hartman - Swanson was born to in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 6, 1929 she entered Heaven's gates on July 17, 2015. A Christian mother and homemaker, Ann was a creative cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing piano, reading books, puzzles, word games and gardening, always including family, and friends. Ann had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Lake City Christian Church. Ann was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Leroy Dale Swanson, also two siblings Henry "Hank" Hartman and Henrietta Brooks. She was survived by her eight children John and his wife Mary Anne, Thomas, Trudy and her husband David Cash, Richard, Michael and his wife Kim, Sandra and her husband Michael Reis, David and his wife Stephanie, Peter and his wife Chris. She is also survived by 18 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Kinney Cemetery, 3399 Vincent Road, North Street, Michigan 48049 Surely, goodness and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Miller Hodges, Mrs. Cornelia "Connie"  
Mrs. Cornelia "Connie" Miller Hodges, age 98 of Lake City, Florida, died on Saturday July 25, 2015 at the Suwannee Valley Haven Hospice Care Center after an extended Illness. The third of four children born to the late Thomas Jefferson & Laura Bourdeaux Miller in Russell, Mississippi, Mrs. Hodges had been a resident of Lake City since 1948 having moved here from Meridian, Mississippi. Mrs. Hodges received her degree as a registered nurse from the Anderson's Infirmary in Meridian, Mississippi in 1944. She majored in the surgical field. Mrs. Hodges worked for the Anderson's Infirmary until 1948. Mrs. Hodges worked for the local hospitals in Columbia County for many years. Mrs. Hodges was an active member of the First Baptist Church and was a longtime member of the Democratic Executive Committee, serving as an honorary member at the time of her death. She had served on the Library Committee, the Cancer Committee, and was a patron of the Lake City Community College. She was also a member of the D.A.R. Edward Rutledge Chapter. Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Branch Hodges, Jr. and a step-daughter, Ann Hodges and James Branch Hodges, III. Survivors include her sister: Mary Slough, Lake City, Florida; a niece and her husband, Glenda & Dr. Judson Force, Timonium, Maryland; and a nephew and his wife, Leland "Pete" & Sandra Slough of The Woodlands, Texas. Other nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Hodges will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Lake City on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 10 A.M., 182 NE. Justice Street, with Rev. Robert Bass officiating assisted by Rev. Ken Baxley. Interment will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, July 28, 2015 from 5-7 P.M. in the chapel of the Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 182 NE Justice Street, Lake City, FL, 32055.
