Jerry "Raymond" Ward

Mr. Jerry "Raymond" Ward, 74, of Lake City passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center following an extended illness. Raymond was a lifelong resident of Lake City and was a graduate of Columbia High School Class of 1962. He served in the US ARMY National Guard where he received an Honorable Discharge. He enjoyed a 40-year career with the Florida Department of Transportation conducting county mapping, traffic counts and statistics. Raymond loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. He always enjoyed visiting with his friends and was passionate about the things he believed in; God, Family and Country. Raymond enjoyed working on his farm, tractors and vehicles making sure they were clean and in tip-top condition.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Wanda Godbold Ward and their two daughters, Kimberly Ward Johnson (Robert) and Julie Ward Tallman (Jimmy) along with grandchildren John Grant, Noah, Landon, Gabe, and Eva. He is also survived by his mother, Ellen Little Ward and a brother Gary W. Ward Sr.. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry V. "Buck" Ward. Memorial services for Mr. Ward will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday August 26th in the Chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Tate officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Columbia County Senior Services, P.O Box 1722, Lake City, Florida 32056, or Haven Hospice, 6037 W US Highway 90, Lake City, Florida 32055.
