Shirley "Colleen" Borklund, 80, of Wellborn, FL, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL following an extended illness.
Ms Borklund was born in Wellborn, FL to Robert Brannon and Katie Howell Brannon. She grew up in Wellborn, Suwannee County, and after marriage, moved to Perry, Taylor County for approximately 30 years. She and her husband moved briefly to Fort Walton Beach, FL before returning to Suwannee County for the last 26 years. She was a hairdresser and homemaker. She loved to read books, write letters, hunt artifacts and fish. She loved gardening and beautiful flowers.
Colleen was married to the late Lawrence Douglas Borklund. She is survived by her son, Brett & Leandra Borklund of Salem, FL; her daughter, Angela Borklund of Wellborn, FL; her seven grandchildren, Russ Cannon, Reece & Kristy Borklund, Keesha Cannon, Elton Hathcock, Tayler Hathcock, Trever Hathcock and Rhett Borklund; two great-grandchildren, Alivia Borklund and Hutson Hathcock; one brother, Wayne "Punk" Brannon; and a host of nieces and nephews. Colleen is predeceased by her father Robert Brannon, mother Katie Brannon; husband Lawrence "Larry" Borklund; son Marc Andre Borklund; brothers Stafford Brannon, Joe Brannon, Willard Brannon, Howard Brannon and sister Allene Carver.
Visitation will be held on January 14, 2019 at 10:00am at Daniel's Funeral Home in Live Oak, FL, followed by the Funeral Services at 11:00am. There will be a brief graveside service following at Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry, FL. Dale Brannon will be officiating.
Daniel's Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. of Live Oak, FL will be in charge of arrangements.
