Mr. William Matthew Carr of Wellborn, Florida, died on June 14, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident . He was born October 26, 1970 in Tampa, Florida. He was married to Heather Carr and was the devoted father of two children, Ian, 13 and Riley, 8. He was the son of Wayne and Jo Anne Carr.
In 1987, he graduated from Zephyrhills High School. He received his Associate of Science degree in Military Science from Georgia Military College in 1990. Matt continued on with his education by receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as well as an Associate of Science degree in Graphic Design from Tampa Technical College. He also served as 1st Lieutenant in the Army Reserve from 1990-1994.
Matt worked as a mediator for GMAC after graduating from college. In 2006, he and his family moved from Pasco County to Wellborn, Florida, where he became a state employee, first with the Department of Children and Family Services, then the Florida Department of Transportation, District 2 as a Right of Way Specialist.
Matt's priority was always his family. He was fun loving, always quick to tell a joke or a funny story. He was a huge Miami Hurricanes fan, enjoyed computer games with family and friends, and loved a wide variety of music- everything from country to 60s, 70, and 80s. When he was not with his family, he could be found working hard on the family farm. He also loved his devoted companion and family dog, Elvis. He was a member of Wellborn Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Heather Nicole Carr and sons, Ian Wayne Carr, and Riley William Carr, his father, William Wayne Carr and mother, Jo Anne Carr of Wellborn, FL ; brother Robert Wayne Carr (Mary) of Tallahassee, FL; his brother, Jeral Wade Carr(Patricia) of Wellborn, FL; his sister, Robin Lynn deDood of New Port Richey, FL; his sister, Kimberly Annette Frost (Russell) of Lancaster, PA; and his mother-in-law, Mary Smith (Lloyd) of Loxahatchee, FL; father-in-law, Ralph Lizza, Port St. Lucie, FL; his brother-in-law, Ralph Lizza of Old Forge, PA as well as many nieces, nephews and a grandnephew. His sister, Kandi Kirkland, predeceased him.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Wellborn Baptist Church with Rev. Don Minshew officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held Friday evening, June 20, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
