William Lawhon Obituary
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years Betty J. Lawhon, Lake City, FL; one son William G. Lawhon, (Bill) Jr. (Dee Dee) Live Oak, FL. One daughter Laura Domingue (Mike) Lake City, FL; and one sister Marcella Nalley (Jim) Marietta, GA. And three grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday September 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bret Patterson assisted by Reverend Mike Tatem. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. DEES-PARRISH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of all arrangements. 458 South Marion Avenue Lake City, FL 32025

As a cousin Glen was so very highly thought of and always will be. He was there in times of happiness, troubles and sorrow. For years I probably caused him a pain, thankfully that ended almost four years ago and it was with joy that we had our last visit (though in a time of sorrow). I know he is in a better place now.

Leon High School, Class of 1958...we will miss him in our roster of graduates! He spent a lifetime praising God, and now he has joined Him in another life. Time sure has passed quickly!

A line from a favorite poem of mine reads: "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." I know Glen will live on in many hearts because he touched many lives. We know that y'all will surely miss him. Our memories of him will live on. To us he was a good teacher /preacher. And this says a whole lot. David and I are very glad to have known him during his stay with us at new hope Baptist church in jasper.

Glen Lawhon, along with Roy Morrison, taught me all that I know about being a good chaplain in the Florida Dept. of Corrections. I will always remember him fondly. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this difficult time.

Brother Lawson was a great friend and mentor. He married both our girls a d was our pastor for many years. He fought the good fight of faith and is now reaping his rewards in heaven. Prayers for Ms Betty..Bill and Laura..he will be truly missed
