On Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice), Lake City, Florida, the sun rays of a beautiful life came to a close.  Our heavenly Father called an angel, Catherine Kelly home.  She was born January 14, 1927 in Lake City, FL to Minnie Jones.  Mrs. Jones precedes her in death.  Catherine received her education in Columbia County at Kings Welcome School.  She was employed with the Lake City Laundry and Sunstate Sewing Factory during her younger years.  She was converted at an early age at Hope Henry AME Church in Lake City, FL.  She later joined Miracle Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Apostle Cleopatra J. She was a loving mother and a loving and caring friend to all that knew her; always willing to help in times of need.  She was blessed with nine children, two sons, Eugene Freeman, Jr., David Kelly, Jr. and siblings, Ellawease Tunsil and Murray Jones, precede her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories: seven daughters, Minnie Lindsey, Evelyn Dunlap, Shirley Jones, Essie Lewis (Carlton), Patricia Johnson, Pearlie Johnson (Billy), Elizabeth Newton; grandchildren, Joey O'neal (Piper), Felisha Mike, Waymon Butts, Carlton "Whoop" Lewis, II, Sherrill Swan, Sheila Sheppard, Troy King, Michael Dunlap, Tonya Waters (Joseph), Theo Johnson, Frederica Newton, Tyhese Newton; seventeen great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Tretha Williams; hosts of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
