Cecil E. Crews, 85, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Lake City V.A. Medical Center. He was born in Brantley County, Georgia to the late Rufus and Mary [Smith] Crews and had lived here in Columbia County since 1947. He served faithfully in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from the V.A. in 1983, after 30 years of service. He was a Life member of the DAV, the Lake City Moose Lodge, the American Legion and past member of the VFW. Cecil was a loving father, and grandfather, who liked helping his family and neighbors fix and repair things, enjoyed having a good time socializing with his family and friends, and loved watching his favorite T.V. Show, The Price is Right. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Crews; brothers, Kenneth & Hugh Crews; and his step mother, Audrey Crews.

Survivors include his son, Casey Crews; daughter, Wendy (Kenny) Louden; brother, James Crews; sisters, Frankie Davis and Margie Gill; sister in law, Beth Crews; grandchildren, James Louden, Mackenzie Crews, Makayla Crews and great grandchild, Ryan Louden all of Lake City, Florida
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, October 11, 2013 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Chaplain Robert Proy officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday evening, October 10, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
