Mr. Cornelius "Boagie" Griffin transitioned to his eternal resting place October 2, 2012. Cornelius was born November 9, 1939 in Lake City, Florida to Charlie and Geneva Griffin. Both preceded him in death. He was educated in the public schools of Columbia County. Mr. Griffin was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he earned the marksmanship medal with the M-14 and M16 Rifles, The National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Post 322 of Lake City and a member of the OO Buck Hunting Club. Boagie enjoyed hunting despite his disability. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Betty Timmons in June 1987. Cornelius was also predeceased by two sisters, Maggie Lee and Lena Mae. He was known for his quiet and humble demeanor.

Funeral services for Mr. Cornelius "Boagie" Griffin will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Salvation Holiness Church. 212 Jem Street. Lake City, FL., Bishop C.K. Troupe, Pastor.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 at the funeral home.
