Mrs. Deborah K. Nipper, 53, passed away Tuesday evening, August 19, 2014 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Shirley [Wright] Coots and the late James T. Coots and had lived here in Columbia County for the past 29 years. She was a caring wife and mother who enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, and her Florida Gators, and was an accomplished 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Deborah was a longtime employee of TDT/CDT Trucking Company and will be deeply missed by her extended work family. She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 24 years, James R. "Ron" Nipper of Lake City, FL; son Shane Nipper (Daniell Crews) of Lake City; mother, Shirley Coots of Frazeysburg, OH; brothers, James Coots (Angie) of Newark, OH, Greg Coots (Linda) and Ron Coots of Frazeysburg, OH, Russell Coots (Heidi) of Nashport, OH; sister, Karen Coots (T.J. Hindel) of Trinway, OH; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nipper will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rodney Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Lake City. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
