Delores Manker Bell passed away peacefully on May 5, 2012 surrounded by a host of loved ones. Mrs. Bell, 75, was born June 5, 1936 to the late Dedie and Gertrude Parnell Manker. Delores graduated from Richardson High School in 1954. She furthered her education at Bethune Cookman College, Daytona Beach, FL. Delores retired from the Lake City VA after dedicating over 35 years of exemplary service as a Switchboard Operator. She was later employed with CARC continuing to work at the Lake City VA Hospital. Mrs. Bell was a faithful member of the Northside Church of Christ where she was a wealth of joy to the members and where she thoroughly enjoyed receiving God's Word. Delores also loved to read and write poetry, sing and study the Bible.

Left to cherish her memory are six loving children: Yvonne Griffin, Yvette Coleman (Edward), Yolanda Wilson, Aflis Wilson (Tequila), Robin Robinson and Chris Bell; one sister, Evelyn Pearce; eighteen grandchildren, Jermaine Griffin (Tesha), Kyala Wilson-Rolle, Yolanda Carter (Michael), Shannon Williams, Jernard Griffin, Audrey Miller, Marcus Brown, LaToya Adams, LaTova McCook (Darren), Yvette Adams, Michael Brown, Aflis Wilson, Jr., Jarod Wilson, Adrian Hill, Christopher Wilson, Alexis Hill, Kanaan Stewart, Asia Chatmon; 11 Great-grandchildren; one Aunt, Emma Parnell Williams; many sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including devoted friend Mary Jones.
Funeral services for Delores Manker Bell will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Northside Church of God. 378 NW Gibson Lane. Lake City, FL. Minister Adrian Harper, Sr.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 P.M. Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Funeral Home.
