Handy L. Timmons age 59, resident of Lake City heard his master's voice, he answered the call and transitioned into eternal rest July 8, 2013 at Shands at Lakeshore Hospital in Lake City, FL.

Handy was born on October 19, 1953, to Robert L. Timmons Sr. and Dorthy L. Timmons in Columbia County, FL., Mrs. Timmons precedes him in death. He was educated in the public schools of Columbia County and graduated from Columbia High School with the Class of 1971. After High School, he attended Community college and completed the police academy training and became a Deputy Sheriff serving Columbia County for several years, then attended the Florida Highway Patrol Academy and became a Florida State Trooper until his retirement.
Handy as his name "Handy" to everyone he came in contact with, he enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews and always displayed a deep love for this family and friends.
He joined Mt. Aarat Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and transitioned in becoming an ordained deacon and served in that capacity. He will be greeted and embraced by a host of love ones who have preceded him in death. His mom, brother, grand dad, nephew, grand daughter, uncle and aunts.
On August 3, 1974 he met and married Angela Ball and to this union 2 daughters were born, then later in life he met the 'dream girl' of his life Cloretha Donaldson.
His loving memory will be forever cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Cloretha D. Timmons and 3 daughters, Tonja Timmons, Chenetta (Darius Wimberly), Katherine Nicole (Johnnie King III); 1 step daughter, Natasha; 3 step sons, Bobby, Tyree and Desi; Father, Robert L. Timmons Sr; Father-in-law, Isiah Donaldson; mother-in-law, Annagusta Donaldson; 7 brothers, Vicent (Lisa), George (Sharon), Tommy (Lenora), Morris, Arthur (Nedra), Ronald and Nathaniel (Selena); 6 sisters, Leatha (Bishop C.K. Troupe), Mary (Edmund), Betty, Dorothy (Ennis), Pinky and Denise; 7 grand children, Davita, Ja'Juan, Ja'von, Jenea, Darial, Dylan, Peityn and Skyy Alma.; 4 sister-in-laws, Kathy, Annette, Earlene, and Heather; 6 brother-in-laws, Telv (Charlene), Darrel (Troy), Chad ( Renatta), Norris (Stephanie), Rufus and Lavorn. 1 very special friend, Walter Brewer, 2 god brothers, Napoleon Jean and Anthony Smith. Other friends, Anthony Williams, Earl Jones, Craig Wallace and a host of nieces, nephews and other sorrowing friends.
Funeral services for the late Mr. Handy L. Timmons will be Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11:00 am at New Day Spring Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lantz Mills Sr., Pastor, Rev. David Scott Eulogy. Interment will following in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Cooper Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
