Mr. Hoyle F. Crowder, Sr., 71, a lifelong resident of Lake City, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, July 10, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by those he loved. The oldest of two sons born to the late Hoyle Payne "Pete" and Alene Harrington Crowder, he was educated in the Columbia County school system and was a member of the 1965 graduating class from Columbia High School. Hoyle was employed with the United States Division of Forestry as an Engineering Technician for 28 1/2 years. Following his retirement, he completed a second career serving as the Director of Public Works for Columbia County for ten years. He was an avid fisherman and he very much enjoyed hunting. Spending quality time with his family and friends while sharing stories of the past and enjoying good cooking were his favorite times. He was a member of the Lake City Masonic Lodge #27 Free and Accepted Masons and he attended the Watertown Congregational Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Connie Crowder; his daughter, Alisa "Moochie" Crowder; sons, Hoyle F. Crowder Jr. and his wife, Heather; and Clifton "Frog" Crowder; a brother, Howard Crowder (Kim); his grandchildren, Brandon Crowder, Allybell Crowder, Hoyle F. "Trey" Crowder III and Victoria "Tori" Crowder and a great-grand daughter, Zoey Crowder all of Lake City. His nieces, Lori Crowder Stormant of White Springs; Stephanie Morrison and Alexis Stamper both of Lake City and his nephew, Pete Crowder of Lake City. Numerous other family members and friends
Funeral service for Mr. Crowder will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home with his friends Milton Parrish and Rev. Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Corinth Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Howard Crowder, Milton Parrish, John Kirkpatrick, Sr., Anthony Smith, Matt and Randy Bowmer and Morris Morgan will serve as pallbearers.
