Jane Jones Russell
Jane Jones Russell, age 61 resident of Fort Myers, Fl passed away on May 11, 2013 in Lehigh Acres after a long illness. Mrs Russell was born and raised in Lake City, Fl, however she had resided in Fort Myers, Fl for the last 42 years. She was the daughter of the late John C Jones and Betty Stephens Jones of Lake City, FL. Mrs Russell accepted Jesus Christ as her LORD and Saviour in her teenage years at Hopeful Baptist Church. She was a former member of Hopeful Baptist Church and Riverside Baptist Church. Mrs Russell obtained her LPN degree in 1970. She loved working as a nurse and she held various jobs until her health failed in the early 1990's. Her greatest joys were her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved pictures especially of her family, she loved to crochet, and loved to read books. She loved gospel music. In her younger years she loved to sing and taught Sunday school.
Survivors include husband Michael Edward Russell of North Fort Myers, Fl. Two daughters Laura Anne Russell of Lake City, Fl, Linda Marie Russell Williams(Robert) of Lehigh Acres, Fl. Two grandsons David Lewis Williams and Michael Lewis Williams of Lehigh Acres also reside. Other survivors include mother Betty Stephens Jones of Lake City, FL, sisters Patricia Jones Dicks (Harry) of Lake City, FL, Marjorie Jones Afyouni (Hossein) of Tallahassee, fl. She is preceded in death by her father John C Jones, sister June Jones Causey, brothers Jack and Joe Jones. There are loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins that also survive. The celebration of Mrs Russell's life will be on Thursday May 16, 2013 in the chapel of Gateway Funeral home at 2pm with the Reverend Richard and Ralph Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm for viewing on May 16, 2013. There will be a memorial service in Fort Myers, Fl at a later time. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery fund or 1st Assembly Of God Mission Fund in Fort Myers, Fl.
