Jean F. DeLoach, age 82, passed away on June 16, 2013. She was born in Athens, LA on March 3, 1931 to Velda Helmuth and Ike Gant. Her Mother and Stepfather raised her in Claxton, GA. She married Lee Ellis DeLoach and moved to Savannah, GA where she resided until moving to Lake City, FL in 1971. Over the years, she worked at Tanglewood Nursing Home, Aero Corp. (Timco), and the Columbia County Sheriff's Department, respectively.  She was the School Crossing Guard with the Sheriff's Department at Eastside Elementary for 16 years, from 1994 until 2011. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Velda (Floyd) Roberson, her Stepfather, Charles H. Floyd, her Father, Ike Gant and a son, Nick Charles DeLoach. She is survived by four children, Rex E. DeLoach, Charlotte Bennett, Elaine Boone, Michael DeLoach, 16 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.
As per her wishes, there will be a ""Celebration of Life"" held at the Lake City Moose Lodge 624 on Saturday June 22, 2013 at 10:30 am. Services are to begin at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lake City Moose Lodge 624 at 624 NE Williams Street, Lake City, FL 32055.
